Breast diagnostic

If the patient has no symptoms: screening

• above the age of 40: mammography and clinical breast examination
• under the age of 30: breast ultrasound and clinical breast examination
• between the ages of 30 and 40: one mammography (over the age of 35), otherwise breast ultrasound and clinical breast examination

If the patient has symptoms: complex breast diagnostic

• over the age of 30 mammography, clinical breast examination and breast ultrasound
• under the age of 30: clinical breast examination and breast ultrasound, in some cases mammography
• In case of alteration an ultrasound-guided breast biopsy and its cytological and histological examination is done in the co-provider pathological ward.
• Cytological examination of secretive breast.

The health centre uses "double reading" accordingly to the international norms of screening. This means that the images are analyzed by two radiology specialist with experience in mammography.

If necessary surgical or oenological consultation is provided.
